Chairman extends club's best wishes to injured defender

Sevenoaks Town manager Simon Jones says the decision to abandon the Umbro Kent Senior Trophy quarter-final at Deal was the right one after home defender Josh Davidson was taken to hospital with a badly broken leg.
The long serving defender suffered a double fracture around 35 minutes into the game following a challenge with Joe Minter who was shown a straight red - the third in the game, after Toby Webb and home striker Roy Godden had been sent off earlier. It's also understood that one of the Deal substitutes was also dismissed by Sittingbourne referee Kevin Welsh in the aftermath of Davidson's injury. Jones said: "I spoke to the Deal manager Derek Hares afterwards and everyone there was understandably very shocked by what happened. Abandoning the game was the correct decision." Jones said: "It hadn't been a dirty game, in fact it was scrappy with both teams flattering to decieve, and I don't think either goalkeeper had made a save. It had been well contested, with both teams putting everything into it." Sevenoaks Town chairman Tony Smart contacted Deal counterpart Dave Reid on behalf of the club over the weekend to wish Josh a speedy recovery.
